ABOUT VOTERS NOT POLITICIANS EDUCATION FUND

Voters Not Politicians Education Fund (Voters Ed Fund) is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening democracy in Michigan through public education and civic participation.

Voters Ed Fund envisions a truly representative democracy where the will of the voters drives government decision-making and public policy in Michigan.

For a truly representative democracy to exist in Michigan, there is structural and systemic change that must happen through a combination of citizen initiatives and legislative advocacy. Michigan voters made great strides towards a more representative democracy by passing citizen initiatives that ended partisan gerrymandering, expanded voting access, and expanded early voting, but there is still much work to do.

Our goals are to: 

  1. Educate and engage voters on issue sets related to democracy, voting, redistricting, and more
  2. Protect the freedom to vote in Michigan
  3. Expand voting access for Michigan voters
  4. Evaluate the 2021 redistricting process to prepare for 2030 and share key insights with advocates for fair maps in other states
  5. Recruit, engage, and train new volunteers to grow Voters Ed Fund’s outreach and engagement capacity

MY CITY VOTES

Voters Ed Fund is expanding our work to ensure voters, especially in underrepresented communities, know their voting options so they can vote when and how it works best for them.

DEMOCRACY ACADEMY

Voters Ed Fund is developing a curriculum and civic education program to help residents understand how municipal governments work so they can effectively learn and interact with their local government.

VOTING ACCESS

Voters Ed Fund will champion the implementation of Proposal 2 to ensure Michigan’s election administrators are complying with the new voting rights that voters enshrined in the state constitution.

Voters Ed Fund is organizing to build and expand our campus-based volunteer program to five additional universities in 2023-2024 to increase student participation in elections.

Voters Not Politicians (VNP) is a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to engaging Michigan citizens in effective actions to strengthen our democracy. We know that democracy is stronger when voters are engaged and educated, and demand to be a part of government decision-making and public policy.

The Voters Ed Fund values your privacy. The Voters Ed Fund does not rent or sell donor information to anyone else, nor do we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.
