Brian Dickerson retired as the Detroit Free Press Editorial Page editor in January 2023 after nearly 35 years at the Detroit Free Press and a career in journalism spanning almost five decades.  He grew up in Rochester, N.Y., and attended Princeton University. While there, he interned at the Wall Street Journal. After graduation, he worked at the Miami Herald for nearly a decade before moving to Michigan to work for the Detroit Free Press.
