Michigan’s new, citizen-led redistricting process is fair, impartial, and transparent and will give Michigan voters better maps that keep our communities intact.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Before Michigan voters passed the redistricting reform amendment in 2018, politicians used their redistricting power to rig elections in their favor<\/strong>. They used big data and advanced computer programs to carve up and skew our communities behind closed doors with no opportunity for public input or oversight.<\/h3>\n

This tactic \u2014 known as partisan \u201cgerrymandering\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 allowed Michigan politicians to choose their own voters, instead of voters choosing their politicians.<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHow did we fix it?\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t

A group of everyday citizens knew the old redistricting process was wrong and unfair and took action<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n
