In 2020, democracy was put to the test and the Voters Not Politicians Education Fund stepped up in a big way to ensure that voters had accurate and timely information to vote and make their voices heard.

As COVID-19 surged across Michigan and the country, delays at the US Postal Service cast doubt among voters whether their absentee ballots would arrive at their clerk's office in time to be counted. The Voters Not Politicians Education Fund led a robust education and outreach campaign that encouraged as many voters as possible to vote absentee and to drop off their completed ballots at a local drop box.
The challenge was getting accurate, up-to-date information to voters on where local drop boxes were located, as many jurisdictions were still installing them just weeks before the election. At the time, there was no reliable, easy-to-use tool that served that purpose. So the Voters Not Politicians Education Fund partnered with All Voting is Local and Menlo Innovations to create MichiganDropBox.com, an easy-to-use search tool voters could use with their phones or computer to find their drop boxes in just “three clicks.”
Meanwhile, hundreds of VNP volunteers ensured the accuracy of our data by meticulously verifying with every clerk in the state, on a continuous basis, the location and hours of their drop boxes.

Detroit Votes 2020
Voters Not Politicians Education Fund led the Detroit Votes 2020 program, an integrated media and organizing campaign designed to generate a meaningful impact on voter turnout and voter registration in one of the country’s most critical electoral battlegrounds. The goal of the campaign was to get accurate and easy-to-understand information to Detroit voters about voter registration and information on satellite voting centers.
